Frequently Asked Questions
-
We source our products from reputable Australian suppliers and trusted practitioner brands, with a focus on quality, evidence-informed formulations and products we feel confident recommending in store. We aim to stock a broad range of supplements, herbs and wellness products to suit different health goals, budgets and preferences.
-
Many of the vitamins, supplements and herbal products sold in Australia are regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Most complementary medicines are listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) and carry an AUST L number, while some products are registered and carry an AUST R number. If you are unsure what this means for a particular product, our team is happy to help explain it.
-
Yes, we stock a range of products that are free from common allergens such as gluten, dairy, soy, eggs and nuts. Availability varies between brands and products, so if you have allergies, intolerances or dietary restrictions, please speak with our team and we can help you find the most suitable option.
-
Many of our products are suitable for vegans or vegetarians, but not all. Ingredients can vary between brands, so we always recommend checking the label or asking our team if you are unsure. We are happy to help you find products that fit your dietary preferences.
-
That depends on your health goals, current symptoms, medications, diet and medical history. Our team can help guide you through the options in store, explain the difference between products and help you choose something appropriate for your needs. If your situation is more complex, we may recommend speaking with one of our in-store practitioners or your healthcare provider for more personalised advice.
-
In many cases, yes, but it depends on the products, the doses and your individual circumstances. Some nutrients and herbs work well together, while others may not be appropriate to combine. If you are taking multiple supplements, or want to start more than one at the same time, we recommend checking with our team so we can help make sure your products are suitable to take together.
-
If you are taking prescription medication, it is always worth checking before starting a new supplement or herbal product. Our team can help screen for common interactions, cautions and contraindications, and we will never advise you to stop or replace medication prescribed by your doctor. If your situation is more complex, or we feel it is outside the scope of an in-store recommendation, we may suggest booking an appointment with one of our degree-qualified practitioners to go into more detail, or checking with your pharmacist, doctor or healthcare practitioner for further advice.
-
Pregnancy and breastfeeding are times when extra care is needed with supplements and herbal medicines. Some products may be suitable, while others may not be appropriate depending on the ingredient, dose and your individual circumstances. Our team can help guide you through suitable options and flag ingredients that may not be appropriate, however we may also recommend checking with your doctor, midwife or healthcare practitioner where needed.
-
Some products in store are suitable for children, but suitability depends on the child’s age, the ingredients and the reason for use. Not all adult products are appropriate for children, even at smaller doses. If you are shopping for a child, please speak with our team so we can help guide you towards age-appropriate options and advise when further practitioner input may be needed.
-
This depends on the product, the reason for taking it and the individual. Some products may be used for short-term support and noticed quickly, while others work more gradually and may take several weeks of consistent use. If you are unsure what to expect from a product, our team can help explain how it is typically used and when you may notice a benefit.
-
Most vitamins and supplements should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. Some products may have specific storage instructions, so it is always best to check the label. As a general rule, the bathroom is not an ideal place to store supplements due to heat and humidity. Always keep products out of reach of children.
-
If a product is temporarily out of stock, we will always do our best to help. Depending on supplier availability, we may be able to order it in for you, suggest a suitable alternative, or let you know when it is expected back in store. If you are after something specific, feel free to contact us and we can check availability for you.
-
Often, yes. If there is a product you are looking for that we do not currently carry, please ask our team. If it is available through one of our suppliers, we may be able to special order it for you. In some cases, we may also be able to suggest a suitable alternative that is already in stock.
-
Yes, we stock a range of practitioner and practitioner-exclusive brands. Some of these products may be more suitable when recommended by a qualified healthcare practitioner, particularly if you have a complex health history, are taking medication, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are unsure whether a practitioner product is right for you, our team can help guide you.
-
If you experience an unexpected reaction or side effect, stop taking the product and contact us, your doctor, pharmacist or another qualified healthcare professional for advice. If the reaction is severe or urgent, seek immediate medical attention. If you believe there may be an issue with the product itself, such as packaging damage or a fault, please let us know so we can investigate further.
-
We want you to feel confident shopping with us. If there is an issue with your purchase, please contact us or speak with our team in store as soon as possible. Returns and refunds are handled in line with Australian Consumer Law and may depend on the condition of the product, whether it has been opened or used, and the reason for the return. For hygiene and safety reasons, we may not be able to accept returns on some opened ingestible products unless the product is faulty or there is another issue covered under consumer law.
